Who May Obtain a Library Card |
A new library card is issued at no charge to Cumberland County residents after an application is completed and proof of I.D. and current mailing address is provided. Although a current driver's license is the most common form of identification, address verification
must be by cancelled mail with name and address on the envelope from the
United States Postal Service. Library cards for children 17 and under must be signed for by parents or guardians. These persons will be held responsible for all materials checked-out on the child's card.

Cardholder Privileges |
It only takes a few minutes to register for your card and you may use it on your first visit although there is a first time limit of two items. You may borrow items of the library's circulating collections.
|
Cardholder Responsibilities |
Since the cardholder is responsible for any materials checked out on his/her card, it is very unwise to loan a library card to another person. A $3 replacement fee is charged for any
library card replacement for any reason. Please inform the library staff if a card is lost or stolen or if an address or telephone number has changed. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR LIBRARY CARD WITH YOU IN ORDER TO CHECK OUT ANY MATERIALS. Failure to return library materials is a serious matter and can result in library privileges being suspended or referral to a collection agency.
